прекрасный обзор клипа..
Earlier this week, we told you about Robbie Williams shooting for the video to 'She's Madonna' in Los Angeles and about how the resulting clip would turn out to be even more fun and controversial (and, yes, everyone loves a bit of controversy in their lives) than his previous 'Let Me Entertain You'. Now, you can check out the video online!
Robbie was never the kind of artist to shy away from a good challenge and, although one couldn't probably explain why he chose to go all drag queen on us for 'She's Madonna', the video is definitely the absolute expression of a genuine artist. And even that's an understatement...
Leaving all prejudices aside and probably mocking all those gay rumors that have been plaguing him ever since he left Take That, Robbie appears to the world in a posture that he was never seen before. All dressed up in a sparkling black dress, with heavy black eyeliner, smeared bright red lipstick and even silver false finger nails, Robbie comes off as the ugliest lady we’ve ever seen.
Of course, that was his intention from the very start. He and Swedish director Johan Renck (who worked with the Queen of Pop on her 'Hung Up') joined forces with Courteney Cox's brother-in-law, one of Hollywood's most famous drags, Alexis Arquette and many other queens from the party scene and created a short film that would certainly entertain you to the max.
From the brilliant dialog (a mock interview that Robbie gives to a reporter), in which the singer talks about his multiple personalities and about how 'special' he is (obviously, another hit at outrageous media reports), to the scene in which he takes off his dress and goes for a John Travolta type of suit (but the false finger nails still on), the whole video is absolutely flawless. And, trust me, this comes from someone who is not quite the Robbie fan!
For those who still find men in women's clothes a bit, I don't know, disgusting try to see the video below with this in mind: it takes a real man (in the true sense of the word) to wear women's clothes and make up (even if he is ugly as hell when in touch with his feminine side)! Plus, this is the art of entertainment – and this is one of the very few instances in which I use the term 'art' and really mean it.
